I was happily photographing Latourell Falls in the Columbia River Gorge on a perfectly overcast morning, when the sun broke through the clouds. At first, I was disappointed because I just knew that bright light was not what I wanted for this scene. But, as it turns out - I was wrong! The rays of light perfectly illuminated the falls and rising mist. I only wish you could hear the thunderous sound caused by such a high volume of falling water!
